Dear Parents of current 9th-11th graders,
Here’s what you need to do:
- Register for MCC (New to Dual Credit)
Students need to register to attend MCC classes at MCC High School Pathways Registration. Be sure to use a personal email address (not a BISD school email) when registering. You can also watch helpful How-To Videos for more guidance. Registration is due by April 17, 2025.
- Take the TSI2 or SAT Exams (New to Dual Credit)
To qualify for dual credit courses, students need to take the TSI2 or SAT exams and meet the minimum scores. Mrs. Gober will be giving the TSI2 to all freshmen and any 10th or 11th grade students needing the TSI2 for dual credit enrollment on April 24th. You can find more information on the required scores here: MCC Guidelines. 3. Wait for Eligibility Notification (New to Dual Credit)
Once your student meets the eligibility requirements, you will be notified that they’re cleared to enroll in dual-credit courses.
- Complete Dual Credit and Early Admission Program Form (New to Dual Credit) All students NEW to dual credit MUST complete and sign the Dual Credit and Early Admission Program Form. This is a requirement for enrollment at MCC in the dual credit program. You can access the form here: Parent Consent Form, and students can also pick up a copy of the form in Mrs. Gober's office.
- Register for Classes (New and Returning Students)
After receiving approval, students can register for classes. If your student doesn’t meet the requirements at first, they can retake the TSI2 exam at MCC to work toward meeting the required scores. Students MUST be approved by August 1, 2025, to enroll in Fall semester classes. If not approved by then, they’ll need to wait until the Spring semester.
- Pay Tuition Bill by August 1, 2025 (New and Returning Students)
It’s crucial to pay the tuition bill by August 15, 2025, to avoid being dropped from the course. If the tuition is not paid by this date, the student will be switched to a regular BHS class schedule.
Key Reminders:
∙ Monitor MCC Email: MCC will only contact students through their MCC email, not Mrs. Gober or parents.
∙ FERPA Release Form: Have your student complete the FERPA Release Form to allow you to communicate with MCC on their behalf.
∙ Parent Information Session: All parents must attend one information session before counselor approval. A virtual makeup session will be held on April 7th at 9:00 AM. Please email Mrs. Gober at [email protected] to receive the link for the virtual session.
∙ Students in Section 504 or Special Education: If your student is in Section 504 or Special Education and wishes to use their current accommodations at MCC, they will need to contact MCC directly. For more information, visit MCC Disability Services.
We’re excited for your student to take advantage of this opportunity! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Mrs. Gober at the email above.
Best regards,
Stephanie Gober M.Ed.
